Add remote storage system
Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.
Prerequisites
See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.
Before modifying a remote system, ensure that the following tasks are complete:
- Control Path communication - Ensure that at least one of the SLIC ports mapped to the File guest has connectivity to a switch through which the File guest can interact with the eNAS 1.0/VNX Control Station guest.
- Data Path communication - ensure that the SLIC ports mapped to File guest for I/O connectivity are in the same subnet as that of the SLIC ports mapped to the data mover in eNAS 1.0/VNX whose file system configuration and data must be migrated.
- A remote connection must exist until all active import sessions are either completed or cancelled. Deleting the import connection removes all information about associated import sessions, including stored reports and support materials.
